Quick Start — Veeam Cloud Connect¶
Veeam Cloud Connect allows backups to be transferred to a repository provided by Cloud4You without requiring a dedicated VPN connection to the provider infrastructure.

Information
Option names may differ slightly depending on the version of Veeam Backup & Replication in use. The procedure has been prepared according to the current Veeam Cloud Connect documentation.
1. Prepare the access details¶
Before starting the configuration, prepare the information received from Cloud4You:
- Cloud Gateway address,
- username,
- password,
- allocated repository capacity,
- information about the required communication port.
By default, communication with Veeam Cloud Gateway uses:
Before starting the configuration, it is worth checking whether the Veeam server can connect to the service.
In PowerShell:
A correct result should contain:
For details, see:
2. Add Cloud4You as a Service Provider¶
In the Veeam Backup & Replication console, go to:
Then select:
Enter the Cloud Gateway address and the credentials received from Cloud4You.
During configuration, Veeam will:
- connect to the Cloud Gateway,
- verify the TLS certificate,
- authenticate the account,
- retrieve resources assigned to your account.
3. Check the Cloud Repository¶
After the Service Provider is added successfully, Veeam automatically retrieves information about repositories assigned to the account.
There is no need to manually add the Cloud Repository on the customer side.
Go to:
The repository provided by Cloud4You should be visible in the list.
Check:
- repository name,
- availability,
- allocated capacity,
- amount of free space.
Note
If the Cloud Repository is not visible, perform a Rescan of the Service Provider. If the repository still does not appear, verify the login credentials or contact Cloud4You Support.

4. Create a Backup Copy Job¶
The Cloud Repository is most commonly used as an external location for an additional copy of an existing backup.
Typical flow:
This approach allows you to keep an additional copy of data outside the local infrastructure.
To create the job, go to the Home view in the Veeam console and start the:
wizard.
In the wizard:
- give the job a name,
- select the source backups,
- select the Cloud4You Cloud Repository as the target,
- configure retention,
- complete the wizard.
Detailed instructions:
Info
Cloud Repository can also be used as a direct target for selected backup types supported by Veeam Cloud Connect. However, Backup Copy Job is a common scenario for creating an additional off-site copy.
5. Run the first backup¶
After creating the job, you can wait for it to run automatically according to the schedule or start it manually.
Go to:
Select the appropriate job and click:
The first synchronization may take significantly longer than subsequent runs because the initial copy of the data is transferred to the Cloud Repository.
The duration depends on factors such as:
- backup size,
- Internet connection bandwidth,
- current infrastructure load,
- amount of data that must be transferred.
6. Check the job result¶
After the first job finishes, check its status.
In the Veeam console, you can verify the session under:
A successfully completed job should have the status:
Also verify that the backup is visible under:
Encrypted backups may be shown under:
Warning
A Success status alone should not be the only verification of a backup system. We recommend performing regular restore tests.
7. Perform a restore test¶
After the first copy has been created, it is worth verifying that data can be restored.
Depending on the backup type, Veeam can restore, among other things:
- individual files,
- an entire virtual machine,
- disks,
- application items,
- data exported from a backup.
As a first test, we recommend restoring an individual file.
Instructions:
Done¶
If all of the following conditions are met, the basic Veeam Cloud Connect configuration is complete:
- [x] the Veeam server can connect to the Cloud Gateway,
- [x] the Service Provider has been added,
- [x] the Cloud Repository is visible,
- [x] a Backup Copy Job has been created,
- [x] the first backup completed successfully,
- [x] the backup is visible in the Cloud section,
- [x] a restore test has been performed.
Your backups can now be transferred automatically to Cloud4You infrastructure according to the configured schedule and retention policy.
