cPanel Hosting

Cloud4You cPanel Hosting is a shared hosting service designed for hosting websites, email, and related services.

Each hosting account has its own dedicated IP address and access to the cPanel control panel.

Logging in to cPanel

We recommend accessing cPanel through the Cloud4You Customer Panel:

https://panel.cloud4you.pl

After logging in, select your hosting service and use the cPanel login option.

Login is handled through SSO, so you do not need to enter a separate cPanel password.

The cPanel service address is:

https://cpanel.cloud4you.pl

Use the Customer Panel

The recommended way to access cPanel is through:

https://panel.cloud4you.pl

With SSO, you are taken directly to the correct hosting account without having to remember additional login credentials.

What can you do in cPanel?

In cPanel, you can manage:

  • website files using File Manager,
  • FTP accounts,
  • domains,
  • email accounts,
  • email forwarders,
  • anti-spam filters,
  • SSL certificates,
  • PHP versions,
  • PHP settings,
  • HTTPS redirects.

The following chapters provide step-by-step instructions for each of these features.

Important addresses

Cloud4You Customer Panel

https://panel.cloud4you.pl

The Customer Panel is used, among other things, for:

  • accessing purchased services,
  • SSO login to cPanel,
  • DNS management.

cPanel

https://cpanel.cloud4you.pl

Webmail

Each hosting account uses webmail available under the domain assigned to the service.

The exact webmail address depends on your domain configuration.

DNS

DNS zone management is not performed directly in cPanel.

DNS records are managed through:

https://panel.cloud4you.pl

Cloud4You nameservers:

cns1.cloud4you.pl
cns2.cloud4you.pl

Do not look for DNS management in cPanel

If you want to change an A, AAAA, MX, TXT, CNAME, or another DNS record, use the Cloud4You Customer Panel.

The DNS zone is not managed from cPanel.

PHP versions

The following PHP versions are currently available on the hosting platform:

PHP 5.6

PHP 7.0
PHP 7.1
PHP 7.2
PHP 7.3
PHP 7.4

PHP 8.0
PHP 8.1
PHP 8.2
PHP 8.3
PHP 8.4

Each domain can use a selected PHP version.

Changes are made in:

cPanel
→ Software
→ MultiPHP Manager

Detailed instructions are available in the Changing the PHP Version section.

Do not change PHP without checking compatibility

Changing PHP may cause an older website or application to stop working.

Before making the change, check the requirements of your CMS, framework, plugins, and applications.

PHP 5.6 and PHP 7.x are legacy versions

Older PHP versions are available mainly for compatibility with legacy applications.

For new websites, use the most recent PHP version supported by your application.

PHP settings

You can change PHP parameters from cPanel.

This includes settings such as:

memory_limit
upload_max_filesize
post_max_size
max_execution_time
max_input_time
max_input_vars

Only set values that are actually required by the application.

Higher values are not always better

Setting a very high memory_limit or max_execution_time will not make the website faster.

It may, however, allow a faulty application to consume more account resources.

PHP-FPM

PHP-FPM can be enabled on request.

If you need PHP-FPM for your domain, contact Cloud4You Support.

Info

PHP-FPM is not a setting that should be enabled without a reason.

If the application works correctly, you do not need to change this setting.

Apache

Websites are served by Apache.

This allows you to use the:

.htaccess

file.

.htaccess allows applications and users to configure selected website behavior, for example:

  • redirects,
  • mod_rewrite,
  • application rules,
  • selected access settings.

Be careful when editing .htaccess

A syntax error in .htaccess may cause an HTTP 500 error and make the website unavailable.

Make a copy of the existing file before editing it.

SSL certificates

Domains use automatic AutoSSL with Let's Encrypt certificates.

After the domain is correctly pointed to the hosting service, a certificate may be issued and installed automatically.

You can check the certificate status in the SSL/TLS section in cPanel.

SSL and DNS

A certificate cannot be issued correctly if the domain does not point to the correct hosting service or the DNS configuration prevents domain validation.

Enforcing HTTPS

Having an SSL certificate does not automatically mean that all HTTP requests are redirected to HTTPS.

You can enable HTTPS redirection yourself:

cPanel
→ Domains
→ Force HTTPS Redirect

For the appropriate domain, set the switch to:

ON

From that point, requests to:

http://twojadomena.pl

will be redirected to:

https://twojadomena.pl

We recommend HTTPS

After the SSL certificate has been issued correctly, we recommend enabling Force HTTPS Redirect.

Email

Email accounts are created and managed in cPanel.

Each mailbox works under its own domain, for example:

biuro@twojadomena.pl
kontakt@twojadomena.pl
faktury@twojadomena.pl

In cPanel, you can:

  • create a mailbox,
  • change its password,
  • set a storage quota,
  • configure a forwarder,
  • manage spam filtering.

Detailed instructions for configuring email clients are provided separately.

Email forwarders

A forwarder automatically forwards messages from one address to another.

Example:

sprzedaz@twojadomena.pl
        ↓
jan.kowalski@twojadomena.pl

Forwarders are configured in:

cPanel
→ Email
→ Forwarders

Spam protection

cPanel provides anti-spam filter configuration.

You can find it in:

cPanel
→ Email
→ Spam Filters

There you can manage how messages identified as spam are marked and handled.

Website files

To manage files without additional software, use:

cPanel
→ Files
→ File Manager

File Manager allows you to:

  • upload files,
  • download files,
  • create directories,
  • rename files,
  • edit text files,
  • change permissions,
  • extract archives.

Do not delete files if you do not know what they are used for

Deleting website files, .htaccess, or application configuration files may make the application unavailable.

FTP

If you want to manage files with an external FTP client, create accounts in:

cPanel
→ Files
→ FTP Accounts

You can create a separate FTP account and restrict it to a specific directory.

This is safer than sharing one account with multiple people.

Backups

Cloud4You performs backups of hosting data.

Current retention:

Daily backups:
7 days

Monthly backups:
3 months

Backups do not replace your own copy

Backups performed by Cloud4You are part of the service protection, but for critical data we also recommend maintaining your own independent copy.

Packages and limits

Cloud4You offers hosting packages that differ in areas such as:

  • SSD capacity,
  • number of domains,
  • number of databases,
  • number of FTP accounts,
  • number of email accounts,
  • CPU,
  • RAM,
  • I/O limit.

Current package parameters are available at:

Where to start

If you are configuring a new website, the recommended order is:

  1. add the domain to cPanel,
  2. configure DNS in the Cloud4You Customer Panel,
  3. wait until DNS works correctly,
  4. check the SSL certificate,
  5. enable Force HTTPS Redirect,
  6. select the appropriate PHP version,
  7. upload the website files,
  8. create the required email accounts,
  9. verify that the website and email work correctly.

Each of these steps is described in detail in the following chapters.
