Email Accounts in cPanel¶
In cPanel, you can create and manage email accounts for your domain.
Example addresses:
Each mailbox can have its own:
- password,
- storage quota,
- webmail access,
- email client settings.
1. Where to find email accounts¶
After logging in to cPanel, find the:
section.
Then click:
Email Accounts
Here you can:
- create new mailboxes,
- change passwords,
- change storage quotas,
- open webmail,
- delete email accounts.
2. Creating a new email account¶
In the Email Accounts section, click:
Create
Then select the domain for which you want to create the mailbox.

3. Mailbox name¶
In the username field, enter the mailbox name.
Example:
This will create the address:
Do not enter the full email address if the domain is selected separately in the form.
4. Password¶
Set a password for the mailbox.
The password should be difficult to guess.
Ideally, it should contain:
- lowercase letters,
- uppercase letters,
- numbers,
- special characters.
You can use the password generator available in cPanel.
Do not use simple passwords such as
firma123,haslo123, or the domain name.
5. Storage quota¶
You can set a disk space quota for the mailbox.
Example:

The quota determines how much space messages in the mailbox can use.
If the mailbox reaches its quota, it may stop receiving new messages.
If the following option is available:
Unlimited
it means that no separate quota is set for this mailbox, but the total storage limit of your hosting account still applies.
6. Creating the mailbox¶
After setting:
- the domain,
- the username,
- the password,
- the storage quota,
click:
Create
Done.
The new mailbox will appear in the list of email accounts.
7. Logging in to webmail¶
To access email through a web browser:
- Go to:
Email → Email Accounts
- Find the appropriate mailbox.
- Click:
Check Email
- Open webmail.
Use the full email address to log in, for example:
and the password configured for that mailbox.
8. Changing the password¶
To change a mailbox password:
- Go to Email Accounts.
- Find the mailbox.
- Click:
Manage
- Set a new password.
- Save the changes.
After the change, the old password will stop working.
If the mailbox is configured in Outlook, Thunderbird, a phone, or another email client, you must also update the password there.
9. Changing the storage quota¶
To change the mailbox quota:
- Go to:
Email Accounts
- Find the account.
- Click:
Manage
- Change the disk space value.
- Save the changes.

10. Configuring an email client¶
You can add the mailbox to applications such as:
- Microsoft Outlook,
- Mozilla Thunderbird,
- Apple Mail,
- an Android phone,
- an iPhone.
In cPanel, you can find the connection settings required for a given account.
You will usually need:
In the account section, look for:
Connect Devices
or the email client configuration option.
11. IMAP or POP3¶
In most cases, we recommend using:
IMAP keeps messages on the server and synchronizes them between devices.
This means the same mailbox can be visible on:
- a computer,
- a phone,
- webmail.
POP3 usually downloads messages to one device and is less convenient when using multiple devices.
If you do not have a specific reason to use POP3, choose:
12. Deleting an email account¶
To delete a mailbox:
- Go to:
Email Accounts
- Find the appropriate account.
- Click Manage or the delete option.
- Select:
Delete Email Account
- Confirm the operation.
Deleting an account may also delete messages stored in that mailbox.
Before deleting an important mailbox, make sure that any required messages have been saved or archived.
13. What to do if the mailbox stops receiving email¶
If the mailbox no longer receives new messages, check:
- whether the account still exists,
- whether the mailbox has reached its storage quota,
- whether the entire hosting account has reached its storage limit,
- whether the domain has correct MX records.

14. Simplest procedure¶
To create a new mailbox:
- Log in to cPanel.
- Go to:
Email → Email Accounts
- Click:
Create
- Select the domain.
- Enter the mailbox name.
- Set a password.
- Set the storage quota.
- Click:
Create
Done.
To access the mailbox:
- Go to Email Accounts.
- Find the mailbox.
- Click Check Email.
- Open webmail.
